Even though COVID-19 is challenging the governments, politicians, economists and the whole human society worldwide, food is still inevitably to produce and crops to be grown in response to the condition. Producing agriculturists who can tackle and skillfully handle the emerging challenges is nowadays becoming important for Yezin Agriculture University.
If you are exploring the possibility of getting higher education in the field of agricultural sciences, we are pleased to present you learning opportunity for agricultural subjects with credit earning system. To obtain a bachelor degree in Yezin Agricultural University, there is a minimum requirement of 156 credits and maximum 200 credit-points within 10 semesters. Annually, students who pass the matriculation examination are eligible for application in the university which receives 300 intakes with gender ratio 1:1.
There is also a bridging program for outstanding students of state agricultural institutes (SAIs) and outstanding staff holding SAI diploma in government departments in semester 5. Annually, 50 male and 50 female outstanding diploma holders are admitted into YAU approximate.
We have programs in YAU which prepare young generation to become leaders and resource scientists in the field of food security, food safety and nutritious food for the nation as well as in global perspective. Through 17 major subject departments, 4 supporting subject departments, 7 outreached campuses and 2 research centers, 13 specializations for bachelor (B.Agr.Sc) and 4 post-graduate programs are offered. Post-graduate degrees include master (M.Agr.Sc), post-graduate diploma (Postgrad Diploma), Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.), and doctorate (regular Ph.D and research based Ph.D). All the courses offered aim to meet the career goals and aspirations of individuals who desire to work in a variety of jobs.
Not only theoretical study but also field and lab practical works, research and internship programs are needed in fulfilling bachelor degrees within the duration of 10 semesters. For the graduating students, internship opportunities are available in agricultural industries related NGO, INGOs, as well as private and government institutions such as Department of Agriculture, Department of Agricultural Research and YAU itself.
Abroad programs for students such as student exchange programs are also available for outstanding students both undergraduates and postgraduates while earning their class credits. More than 10 scholarships are available for students based on their academic performance, financial need and community involvement. As a university in Myanmar with one of the largest scholarship programs, YAU remains as an academic institution producing dedicated agriculturists well equipped in knowledge, skill and inspiration.
