The library was established in 1924, the same time as the university. It became a depository library of FAO in 1999 and it has received a copy of every FAO publication free of charge since then.
The library serves as a technical library and its collection are focused on resources for agricultural and related subjects. It holds research and term papers, dissertation, journals, CD-ROMs and others.
As for online searching, the university has Access to Global Online Research in Agriculture (AGORA) and Online Access to research in the Environment (OARE). 16 Computers and some facilities were donated by KOICA.
Lan TEEAL (Essential Electronic Agricultural Library for Local Area Network) was installed, which was funded by FAO-Myanmar-Oil Crop Development Project in 2008. TEEAL data base is easily accessible and very useful electronic resource for the university students.
The University Library plays an important role in the educational life of the campus, its collection of 27590 volumes of books and periodicals supports the University’s teaching and research programmes.
The library opens throughout the year for the staff and students of the Agricultural University.
The University Library holds more than 28808 volumes of books, journal, periodicals of Agriculture, Science and Arts.
