Department of Agricultural Microbiology (AMB) was established in December 2017. It was subsequently composed of the subject group of Agriculture Environment under the framework of credit system of Yezin Agricultural University. Currently, the department is being under equipped with laboratory facilities.

Vision/ Objective
To impart and maintain quality in education, research and extension activities in the field of Agricultural Microbiology

Mandate
To train students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels to expertize in microbial technology and strengthen the capacity of research

The priority areas include:

Climate change, its impact on beneficial soil microflora and mitigation of climate change by exploiting microbes
Soil and plant disease management through bioinoculants
Identification of indigenous microbes
Rapid composting of bio-solid waste using microbial consortia
Small/Large scale production and distribution of microbial inoculants
Documentation of microbial diversity
