ACARE Knowledge Repository: Strengthening Digital Knowledge Management at Yezin Agricultural University

Yezin Agricultural University (YAU), through the Advanced Centre for Agricultural Research and Education (ACARE) and its Department of Participatory Knowledge Management (DPKM), has successfully implemented the ACARE Knowledge Repository Project, an initiative designed to strengthen digital knowledge management, academic resource sharing, and institutional capacity at the University.

The project was implemented under the Quick Impact Projects (QIPs) scheme of the Mekong–Ganga Cooperation, funded by the Government of India and supported by the Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, the Embassy of India in Yangon, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation.

The project established a secure digital knowledge repository supported by upgraded server and network infrastructure, a dedicated server and data training facility, computer systems, digital learning resources, and customised repository software. The system provides facilities to store, organise, manage, and retrieve academic and research resources, including publications, theses, datasets, training materials, and other institutional knowledge.

By October 2025, the repository infrastructure and digital platform had become operational within ACARE, providing administrative, upload, search, and internal user access functions. The project represents an important step in YAU's continuing digital transformation and strengthens the University's capacity for long-term preservation, management, and sharing of agricultural knowledge.

The ACARE Knowledge Repository also reflects the continuing cooperation between Myanmar and India in agricultural education, research, capacity building, and digital innovation under the Mekong–Ganga Cooperation framework.
