Two plot experiments were conducted during (November-February) 2017 and 2018 post monsoon season at the Water Utilization Research Section, Department of Agricultural Research (DAR), Yezin. The experiments were assigned into 3 x 5 factorial arrangements in randomized complete block design with three replications.

The field experiments were conducted in Kyunpyar Village, Minbu Township, Magway Region, in Central Dry Zone during monsoon and post-monsoon seasons, 2017, to evaluate the effect of zinc (Zn) and boron (B) on yield and yield contributing characters of green gram, to investigate the combined effect of Zn and B on yield and yield components of green gram and to find out the optimum dose of Zn and B for increasing yield of green gram in the experimental area.

The present study was conducted at Department of Plant Pathology, Yezin Agricultural University from August to September 2018. A total of 14 indigenous rhizobium isolates with higher symbiotic effectiveness were morphologically and biochemically characterized from root nodules of green gram variety 'Yezin-11´.

A study was conducted in Kyee Inn Village Tract, Pyinmana Township, Naypyitaw during 2017 and 2018 to generate the spatial distribution maps by evaluating soil fertility status describing chemical and physical soil properties, and to suggest the farmers for proper site-specific fertilizer management using Geographic Information System (GIS).

Genetic variability, heritability of traits, their association, and direct and indirect effects to yield are essential for crop improvement. Therefore, objectives of this study were to estimate genetic variability and correlation among yield and yield component characters of hybrids, and to find out direct and indirect effect of yield components to yield.

To generate scientific information on nature and magnitude of genetic variability and to classify genotypes into distinct clusters on the basis of yield and yield component traits, this experiment was conducted at the Department of Plant Breeding, Physiology and Ecology, Yezin Agricultural University from June to October 2017.

The study is carried out to evaluate the resistance level of local rice varieties and promising YAU rice lines against rice blast disease caused by Pyricularia oryzae. Two isolates of P. oryzae namely Po1 and Po2 were collected from Zeyarthiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory, and five isolates namely Po3, Po4, Po5, Po6 and Po7 from Myaungmya Township, Ayeyarwaddy Region.

Sesame is an economically important oilseed crop in Myanmar. Magway Region occupied the largest sesame sown area for many years. Aunglan Township was purposively selected due to wide sown area of top export sesame variety (Sahmon Nat) in Magway Region.

To investigate critical intervention areas in the rubber industry, SWOT analysis was conducted from October 2018 to February 2019.

Experiments arranged in a split plot design with three replications were carried out at farmer’s field of Latpankone village in Nyaunglebin Township, Bago Region during winter season in 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 in order to explore the effects of different sowing dates and mungbean varieties on natural incidence of bean fly.

Experiment was carried out to evaluate the biology and predation rate of Harmonia axyridis, Multicolored Asian Ladybird Beetle (MALB) and Coccinella transversalis, Transverse Ladybird Beetle (TLB) on aphids under laboratory condition (28 ± 1 °C and 60 ± 5 % RH) from January to April 2019 at Department of Entomology and Zoology, Yezin Agricultural University.

In this study, developmental stages, longevity and fecundity of spider mites’ predator, Stethorus punctillum (Coleoptera: Cocinellidae) against Tetranychus trancatus was investigated at different temperature regimes (20, 25, 30 and 35˚C) under laboratory conditions during October 2018 to March 2019.

The study attempted to observe adoption of sesame growers on production technology package recommended by the Department of Agriculture (DoA) in Magway Township. The objectives were to investigate adoption of improved technology package (ten components) and socio-economic characteristics of the sample households and to analyze the financial profitability of sesame production.

The experiment was conducted to investigate the genetic variability and association with the yield and its component traits among YAU rice lines. The analysis of variance revealed significant differences among the tested lines indicating enough variability is present between them.

The species exploration of leaf mining flies and their parasitoids was conducted during winter season 2017 and 2018.The study sites were Naungbinthar village, Kyee Inn village and Sebin village from Pyinmana Township and Yezin Agricultural University (YAU) farm from Zeyarthiri Township in Nay Pyi Taw.

Gender and scores in learning a language are gaining increasing significance in the field of higher education. In the scope of language learning and gender, this study investigates differences in academic performance measures of males and females in the exams of the English language in Yezin Agricultural University (YAU).

A total of 12 species of ornamental fish species were collected from North Dagon Myothit Township. The study period lasted from June 2018 to September 2018.

Field experiments were conducted in Tatkon and Zaloke Research Farms to investigate the effect of different crop management practices on growth, yield and yield components of Yezin-6 chickpea variety during the winter season from November 2018 to February 2019.

Nitrogen management for respective rice varieties in specific rice cultivating areas should be formulated to promote the sustainable and profitable rice production while improving nutrient use efficiency and environmental conservation.

It is a common perception that education resources have a positive impact on student achievement. Among these resources, reducing the class size not only in basic education level but also in higher one has been viewed as an important approach to improve a student’s learning process. This study, therefore, aimed at investigating the effect of class size on student achievement in Yezin Agricultural University (YAU).
